Savetooth treatment allows you to use your natural tooth that needs to be extracted due to problems with the root canal or the gum around the tooth for a longer period of time. Through this treatment, you can use your own tooth as much as possible by simultaneously performing endodontic retreatment of teeth that have already been treated with nerves, gum treatment, occlusion reconstruction, and prosthetic treatment. 

Can all teeth be treated?

Teeth with cracks in the root, teeth broken too deep, teeth that cannot be restored due to too much melted gingival bone, and teeth that cannot even be treated with prosthesis, which sets up a post, due to too severe cavities are unavoidably extracted.

 Endodontic Retreatment

If there is a problem with the tooth that has been treated once, the next treatment step is usually extraction. Normal endodontic treatment is not easy, and it is even more difficult for both the patient and the dentist to re-treat the tooth that has already completed endodontic treatment. 

Not all teeth that have been received endodontic treatment get better with retreatment. However, if it is determined that the cause of problem can be improved through retreatment, it is worth trying treatment.

Severe inflammation is observed at the tip of the molar root. It is a tooth that had previously completed endodontic treatment and crown treatment, but the root tip was infected. The front tooth is severely decayed and the condition after endodontic treatment is not good.

First, remove the previously treated crown and core.

Using a microscope, check the entrance to the previously treated area.

Most of the materials used in the previous treatment are severely contaminated.

Remove the contaminated material as much as possible. Since it can act as a source of bacterial infection, remove it thoroughly using a microscope. After removal, check the remaining part with X-rays, and if necessary, remove it repeatedly.

Disinfect several times to ensure that the inside of the root is clean, then fill the empty space again and complete endodontic treatment. If there are not many teeth remaining, reinforce the teeth by setting up a post.

This shows that the inflammation is almost cured.

In this condition, the tooth function can be restored by performing crown treatment again.

Crowns should also be manufactured as accurately as possible to avoid gaps.
